Tomas Sjödahl appointed Cargo Director at Eckerö Line
Tomas Sjödahl has been appointed as Cargo Director at Eckerö Line. Tomas Sjödahl has 25 years of experience in international logistics and he has worked as, among other things, CEO at Oy Victor Ek Ab and as a member of their board. He will join Eckerö Line on 21 November 2022.
“International shipping, rubber-wheeled traffic, ship’s clearance, custom clearance as well as liner representations are my strengths. My whole career has always been in some way related to shipping but I have never before worked for a shipping company. Now the right opportunity has finally arrived. Eckerö Line is a reputable Finnish company with an excellent brand and a strong market position. I look forward to continuing the good work that my predecessor and his team have built up”, says Tomas Sjödahl.
“I am happy to welcome an experienced logistics expert like Tomas Sjödahl to our team. Eckerö Line’s cargo operations have increased heavily in recent years and as international logistics are looking for new routes in Europe, we believe that our growth will continue. Functioning shipping is vital for Finland. 90% of our freight traffic is transported by sea and 60% of the parcelled goods traffic uses the Helsinki-Tallinn route on passenger ships. Eckerö Line is the only shipping company that has already moved more than half of its cargo traffic from the centre of Helsinki to Vuosaari”, says Taru Keronen, Managing Director at Eckerö Line.
Current Cargo Director at Eckerö Line, Markku Onniselkä is retiring on 30 November 2022 and he will continue as Senior Advisor until 28 February 2023.
